When installing REMUS sports silencers and cat-back systems and cat replacement pipes that were designed for use on closed routes, it is advantageous to carry out an ECU remapping in order to exploit the optimal performance of the exhaust system and to prevent the check engine light from lighting up. When installing REMUS down pipes with and without racing catalytic converters, which were designed for use on closed tracks, an ECU remapping is required in order not to adversely affect the running behavior of the engine and to prevent the check engine light from lighting up. The use of racing products and products that do not have EC approval is not permitted on public roads or within the scope of the STVO/STVZO.
